WELCOME TO Al YAMANIAH

Al Yamaniah is a community and platform that champions the work of Yemeni women in the creative field. While it is a given that there is talent and ambition among Yemeni women, we didn’t find a platform or space to bring together both the thriving diaspora and the women in Yemen in a digital space. We decided to create Al Yamaniah to fill that gap. We feature and promote the work of upcoming as well as established creatives, facilitate collaborative projects and much more. If you would like to contribute or have any ideas, please don’t hesitate to reach out!

Noha Al-Maghafi
Noha Al-Maghafi, known as Intibint, is a British Yemeni singer-songwriter, producer and artist based in London. She is the founder and a co-director of Al Yamaniah
Afraa Ahmed
Afraa Ahmed is a Yemeni multimedia artist and designer based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. She is a co-director at Al Yamaniah.
Asma Ibrahim
Asma Ibrahim is a British-Yemeni reading Asian and Middle Eastern Studies at Cambridge. She is founder and current vice-president of the Cambridge University Yemen Society. She is also a co-director at Al Yamaniah.
Makadeer Kassim
Makadeer Kassim is an American-Yemeni student based in New York studying Emerging Media and Women studies, the web designer at Al Yamaniah.
Shaima' Al-Mekhlafi
Shaima' Al-Mekhlafi is an American-Yemeni Psychology major graduate from the United Arab Emirates University. She is based in Abu Dhabi and she is the translator for Al Yamaniah.
Laila Al Nagar
Laila Al Nagar is a Yemeni Medical Sciences student, based in Toronto. She is a translator at Al Yamaniah.
Maha Bakheet
Maha Bakheet is a Yemeni law student based in Riyadh. She is a translator at Al Yamaniah.
Wala Al-Sadi
Wala Al-Sadi is a Yemeni communications student at the Lebanese American University. She is a trainee at the Yemeni Cultural Network under the Goethe institute. Wala is also a designer at Al Yamaniah.

Afraa Ahmed
Afraa Ahmed is a Yemeni multimedia artist and designer based in Cairo. She is a member of the founding team and is a co-director at Al Yamaniah.
Afraa is currently on leave.
Shaima' Al-Mekhlafi
Shaima' Al-Mekhlafi is an American-Yemeni Psychology major graduate from the United Arab Emirates University. She is based in Abu Dhabi and was the first translator at Al Yamaniah.
MK
MK is an American-Yemeni student based in New York studying Emerging Media and Women studies. She is a web designer at Al Yamaniah.
Anwaar Baobeid
Anwaar Baobeid is a Yemeni public health researcher based in Toronto.
